2007 - That was the
YEAR that Was!
 The
kids
.... Suzanna is an architect and lives in her
own row house in downtown Denver with Aaron and their 3 cats. Scott is a
petroleum engineer with ConocoPhillips in Anchorage, Alaska. Quinn and Mike are
retired and just trying to be kids again.
The
year began with six back to back snow storms. With the huge snow fall and
drifting, we drove down ou r
drive, a virtual snow canyon .... so we escaped to Florida in early
January.
When back in Colorado, Mike, Suzanna, and Scott used their 4 Passes to ski at
Winter Park, highlighted by Mike backing the Villager into a snow bank at 45
mph.
Over spring break the whole family got together for a dash
to Bali, Indonesia, which is exactly half way across the world from Colorado.
For you who are fans of the book, “Eat, Pray &Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert,
Suzanna insisted that we hunt down Ketut
and Wyan, main characters in the book (Quinn made it happen). Ketut read our
palms and Wyan treated Quinn’s “busy mind”.
In May, Scott graduated from the Colorado School of Mines
with a job waiting in Alaska. However, Quinn and Mike beat Scott to Alaska
(taking a week cruise in late May). Scott went to Dubai with
 his
college roommate, Waleed, and stayed most of the summer at Waleed’s parents home
living the very good
life.
Scott returned in July from Dubai with his new water pipe, incense burner,
frankincense, and
custom tailored robes. After reconnecting with
friends, Scott (with backup driver M ike)
headed North to Alaska to start his career; his truck loaded
to the hilt (including that apple
tobacco water pipe). They looked like the Beverly
Hillbillies. Quinn flew up to Anchorage and got to see Scott’s new home
and we cruised back through Glacier Bay to Vancouver and
then flew home.
Over Labor Day weekend, Mike and his mom, Mildred, drove to Oklahoma City
for a reunion, visiting Mildred’s
childhood home and haunts.

Mike and Quinn, finding cruising so much fun and wanting to miss the annual
Halloween snow storm, cruised to the Mexican Riviera over Halloween. We got
home just in time for a family reunion at our house to celebrate Thanksgiving
and Scott’s 23rd birthday.

When it started snowing in
early December, Quinn and Mike
took off for Phoenix, visiting Tucson and Sedona, helicoptering and hot air
ballooning, leaving our two big cats in the
care of friends.
Somewhere - we found time to volunteer
as Colorado Master Gardeners this summer and take care
of
our palatial
estate
(three
acres
in the country). Mike pretends he’s a
farmer and
all the weed

pulling keeps us is
shape .
Oh yes, Quinn still paints, teaches Yoga
and ArtEscapes and studies Ikebana.
Back in Berthoud/Denver for the holidays, we will spend two wonderful days with
our daughter, Suzanna, and friends
enjoying a low key holiday.

Have a wonderful yuletide season!
Mike,
Quinn, Suzanna, &
Scott
